SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental assessments and compliance reviews for disaster-impacted areas, ensuring adherence to FEMA and other regulatory standards.
- Develop strategies and solutions for environmentally sustainable recovery and resilience planning.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed technical reports and documentation to support environmental compliance with NEPA and FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into recovery projects and planning.
- Provide expert guidance on complex environmental regulations and policies.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage compliance documentation and maintain transparency.
- Mentor and guide junior environmental planners and team members.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, Historic Preservation, Archeology, Regional Planning, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in a related field.

Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- Advanced knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and planning principles.
- Proficiency in GIS and other planning and analysis tools.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
