A day in the life of the Assisting Director:
- Develops, plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, budgets, monitors and evaluates policies, procedures and operations of the agency to insure the accomplishment of the department's mission.
- Ensures the provision of appropriate services in the area of Adult Services as determined by the agency mission.
- Maintains an active internal communication flow with all management staff to insure comprehensive, coordinated operations and individual services.
- Assures that Adult Services meets the needs of all service recipients in accord with best practice.
- Prepares all County, State and Federal reports pertaining to Adult Services.
- Supervises the staff of Adult Services.
- Demonstrates fiscal accountability regarding the management and implementation of the department's budget.
Expectations:
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as with Managers, support staff, external groups, families in various settings.
- Needs organizational skills and must be able to manage a large caseload.
- Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with computer systems such as MS Office and other systems used at SPIN in order to maintain, update and complete position accountabilities.
The tools you need:
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Special Education or a related field.
- Knowledgeable of DPW 6400 regulations and ODP requirements
- Two years’ supervisory experience working directly with adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle and insurance.
