JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance:
Candidate will perform a variety of mechanical duties on various aircraft models including, but not limited to the following: diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery to customer.
Avionics:
Candidate should have a strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and electronics technology. They understand other aircraft systems such as hydraulics and flight control and are adept at reading and interpreting electrical drawings, parts diagrams and engineering orders.
Job Duties:
- Complete all maintenance activities on aircraft as assigned.
- Demonstrate effective maintenance repair techniques using FAA & Industry accepted practices, tooling.
- Provide mentorship to junior level mechanics.
- Perform advanced aircraft modifications, sheet metal repair, corrosion, landing gear or engine removals.
- Ensure all work is completed per the maintenance manual, service bulletin, Spirit Avionics RSM, FAA FAR or other approved documentation.
- In partnership with the Maintenance Lead and Quality Inspectors, ensure full compliance to all internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
- Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Ensures quality and efficiency of all assigned inspections, service, and maintenance work scopes.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Working on aircraft to install, inspect, test, and repair the avionics equipment and electronics including communications, navigation systems, radar & flight control systems.
- Performs avionics technical services on client’s aircraft appropriate to their FAA privileges.
- Inspects the work of assigned personnel and ensures quality and conformance to specifications set by the Repair Station Manual and the company.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of all test equipment and tools used in assigned section. Ensures that all equipment is properly used, cleaned, maintained and is stored in the assigned areas. Ensures test equipment and tools in use are within their calibration period.
- Follows up on parts and equipment required. Provides turnover information on deficiencies and shortages.
- Prepares daily shift turnover reports, initiates forms, and paperwork as needed, ensures that all paperwork is properly executed and signed.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED. Associates degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance desired.
- 4 years of progressive maintenance experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military.
- Valid FAA A&P license mandatory.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting avionics desired.
- ASTM Aircraft Electronics Technician Certifications highly desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to work independently and cross‐functionally.
- Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong time‐management and organizational skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug test.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
