The Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in Spirit’s supply chain operations. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for efficiently managing inventory, processing orders, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. The Warehouse Associate handles a variety of tasks related to receiving, inspecting, storing, tracking and shipping microelectronics, semiconductors, and EEE components for Spirit’s customers in the aerospace and defense supply chain.
Essential Job Functions
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments of electronic components and materials
- Accurately log received items into the inventory management system
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards
- Perform detailed inspections of electronic components to company, customer, and industry requirements
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform work orders including, tape and reel packaging, laser marking, and value-added services
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Conduct regular inventory counts and participate in full inventory audits
- Assist in identifying and reporting discrepancies in inventory levels
- Follow proper handling procedures for sensitive electronic components, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols
- Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure all stored and shipped items meet required standards
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles as needed
- Properly label and store items according to established warehouse organization systems
- Participate in cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
- 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in electronics or aerospace industries
- High school diploma; additional education or degrees in logistics or supply chain management a plus
- Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning systems
- Basic understanding of electronic components, AS9100 quality management system, and MIL-STD specifications preferred
- Familiarity with ESD controls, FOD controls, and warehouse environmental and operational controls
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs regularly
- Proficiency in using computers for data entry and basic record-keeping
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic math skills for inventory calculations
- Understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow procedures and policies strictly and diligently
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a climate-controlled warehouse environment
