What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse Counselor/CIT position at Spiritual Journey Counseling?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for individuals with substance abuse issues
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in need
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive change in clients
- Assist with case management duties, including referrals to community resources
- Collect and analyze data related to client outcomes and program effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Valid licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC, CADC, etc.)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders, including PTSD care
- Proficiency in case management practices and techniques
- Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-10 for medical documentation purposes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective counseling sessions
- Ability to provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to clients
- Excellent organizational skills for managing caseload and documentation

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
