Job Summary
- Allow the residents to remain in control of their lives providing only the support needed up until they cannot complete a task themselves

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with ADLS (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, laundry and dining) according to their individual needs as specified in their service plan
- Assist in general cleaning of common areas and residents apartments as indicated in shift task schedules
- Assist with dining as indicated in shift task schedules
- Refer any concerns from residents or their families to the Administrator or Supervisor
- Document any concerns from residents or their families in their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or the Communication Book
- Report to Administrator and Supervisor any unusual behaviors or occurrences, accidents and significant changes in appearance or condition of any resident and document in Communication Book
- Greet all visitors and assist them as needed
- Respond promptly to all calls for help from residents
- Greet all new residents and assist them with getting settled in their apartment and introduce to others
- Assist and participate in monthly fire drills
- Assist in social events as requested
- Attend in-service meetings - mandatory six (6) hours per year
- Be available to work shift when another employee requests time off or is absent, if possible
- Option of taking off another day (upon approval) that I am scheduled, when I work an unscheduled shift
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate or equivalent
- Demonstrates a desire to support independence, and promote dignity for the residents of our facility
- Must be physically fit and able to stand, bend, lift and push
- Ability to work independently in the absence of the Administrator
- Youll need a genuine passion for helping others and making a difference to the quality of life of the elderly. You will need a caring manner, patience, good communication skills and the ability to think on your feet. You need to be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Must be coachable, with a can-do attitude
- Be positive, supportive, and cooperative
- Willingness to go above and beyond to be a day-maker
