Job Summary
SPL is growing and is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician I in Pleasanton. The Laboratory Technician I must be team-oriented, proactive and goal driven. This position will perform laboratory analyses as specified by method protocol and perform duties under the general supervision of the laboratory manager/supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or other science is preferred.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements
This position does not require travel.
Work Schedule
This position will work 8 hours Monday-Friday in SPL’s Pleasanton, TX location. This position is subject to overtime and weekend availability and participates in the on-call rotation for their specified lab in order to meet deadlines.

Job Responsibilities
- May prepare data and reports for review by senior personnel;
- Maintain neat and accurate records;
- Maintain work area that is clean and free of safety hazards;
- Maintain working knowledge of chemistry and industry terminology;
- Perform routine maintenance for all SPL equipment used, including PC, scanners, instrumentation, parts, fittings, and sample cylinders;
- Perform sample and QC analyses as specified by test method and ensure that all relevant and/or required information is properly documented and recorded;
- Perform review/interpretation of test results to verify that data is accurate and reasonable;
- Perform analytical calculations for reporting data and input into LIMS;
- Compare current data with historical data in LIMS to identify sample discrepancies and notify the client as necessary;
- Perform instrumentation calibrations and/or basic troubleshooting as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
- One (1) to three (3) years relevant laboratory experience preferred;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and the Internet required;
- Must be able to operate PC and input data information into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System);
- Ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and perform efficiently under time constraints;
