We are looking for a talented and experienced Catering Chef to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a proven track record in catering services. As a Catering Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing high-quality meals for a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties. You will work closely with our catering sales team and clients/members to create customized menus that meet their specific needs and preferences. Your role will also involve managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, and maintaining inventory and budget controls. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You should be creative, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients. This position will also support our 1910 Restaurant and Deli kitchens. Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare menus for various events.
- Coordinate with catering sales team to customize menus according to the clients preferences.
- Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks effectively.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
- Oversee inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Monitor food costs and manage budget effectively.
- Supervise food presentation and ensure it meets client expectations.
- Handle any client complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Collaborate with event planners and other staff to ensure seamless service.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Develop and test new recipes.
- Manage time efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
- Prepare and cook food in large quantities for events.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
- Adapt to last-minute changes and requests from clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Catering Chef or similar role.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
