Position description

Spokane Emergency Physicians is seeking to hire additional Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join its Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center independent Emergency Medicine practice. These positions provide the opportunity to join and further develop a high quality health care delivery team. The Emergency Department has an annual volume of 80,000 visits/year between its Adult and Pediatric zones of care.

NP & PAs provide practice coverage 18 hours per day alongside their EM physician colleagues. The NP PA serves as an independent provider, collaborates with the physician and works with a variety of other healthcare professionals. The NP PA will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The NP PA will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, and lumbar puncture, etc. The NP & PAs also are critical in serving our community’s psychiatric patient population.

Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner: Master's prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Washington State RN and APRN license and certification as a NP.

OR

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Washington State Board of Medical Practice.

BLS and ACLS certification required and an unrestricted prescriptive authority in Washington, (Washington Board of Medical Examiners and DEA). (CALS and PALS) or ATLS certifications are preferred by the time of starting the position. Emergency Medicine Fellowship, or 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience is preferred but not required.

Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time available

Schedule details: 8, 9 & 12 hour shifts – rotating between 7a to 1a
