This is an on-site position with possible local site visits, has a dayshift schedule of Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-2:30pm/Friday 6:00am-12:00pm, and starts at $20.92/hr.

What you'll be doing

Under direct supervision, the Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee assists registered Chemical Dependency Professional staff by providing chemical dependency counseling and case management services to individuals in the Opioid Treatment Program. Maintains individual's files in compliance with County, State and Federal regulations. Assists in the operation of the Opioid Treatment Program dispensary, as needed. All documentation must be reviewed and signed off by a licensed SUDP.

Some Essential Functions Include:

  • Provides individual and group counseling services to Opioid Treatment Program individuals and their families. Supports individuals in setting appropriate goals based on individual needs and assessments.
  • Provides case management services to individuals enrolled in the Opioid Treatment Program.
  • Conducts individual's assessments and placement referrals to appropriate level of care.
  • Provides oversight of clinic waiting area ensuring a safe environment, supportive of program objectives as needed. Monitors UA/BA's as needed and assists with other patient needs.

What we need from you

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of related college level coursework.
  • 3 months of related experience in a chemical dependency or social service agency.
  • Current WA State Substance Use Disorder Professional Training Certification.
**NOTE** The successful candidate must be working toward SUDP attainment. This position will be reviewed after 18 months. If the incumbent attains his/her Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification and relevant degree, he/she will be able to apply for an SUDP 1 position. If the incumbent fails to attain an SUDP Certification and relevant degree, this position will be terminated.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
