RATE OF PAY: $16.66-$23.00 / HOUR

INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this position is to maintain all facilities at the Spokane Tribal Pow Wow Grounds. This includes all buildings, RV sites, Landscape, tree’s, plants, grass, fences and playgrounds located on the Pow-Pow grounds premises.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILILTIES REQUIRED:
- Performs a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (i.e. carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects, tasks and/or workorders within the established time frames.
- Repair broken water lines to the kitchens, frost free hydrants and all other main waterline repair and construction.
- Operate heavy machinery such as mini-excavator, backhoe and skid-steer to complete and repair major water and sewer breaks on the Pow Wow grounds site.
- Assists the maintenance staff with projects (i.e. completing specific tasks, transporting and/or securing materials etc.) for the purpose of completing projects, tasks and/or Work Orders in a safe and efficient manner as needed.
- Ensure the grounds/facilities are operating in safe, clean, sanitary, efficient, comfortable and sound condition.
- Prepares written materials (i.e. activity logs, time reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
- Repairs equipment and building system components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working environment and/or condition.
- Maintains assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in a safe operating condition.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving safety concerns.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and reports any safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with the burial services when needed.
- Maintain the tools, sheds, fences, and other appurtenances at the burial sites.
- Other duties as needed and as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in operating heavy equipment such as backhoe, mini-excavator and skid-steer.
- Must know how to drive an ATV.
- Must be able to effectively follow written and verbal instruction, fill out work orders, read and comprehend assembly and safety instructions and keep accurate records and logs.
- Must have basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and/or maintenance skills.
- Must have at least one year work experience in the carpentry, construction or maintenance field.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position. Ability to lift up to 50lbs., kneel, bend, climb ladders, work on a roof, work in inclement weather, work in an environment subject to chemical cleaners, pesticides (lawn maintenance), dust, allergens etc.
- Must be willing to work after hours as needed.
- Must always maintain confidentiality.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to perform considerable physical exertion such as infrequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting of heavy objects over 50 pounds with repetitive bending, crouching or stooping. The position requires above-average agility and dexterity.
