Information Technology Application Specialist

We are looking for an organized, flexible, results focused Specialist who has a passion for service improvement and strong customer service skills.

The IT Applications Specialist oversees all aspects of software life cycles including installation, maintenance, upgrades, customizations, and 3rd party integrations focusing on “legacy” systems throughout operations in North America (U.S.A. & Canada). The IT Applications Specialist will provide IT technical guidance and support to a growing company with international reach. The position will participate in Business Analysis, Database Management and application development efforts related to legacy systems.

Your Day to Day:

1. Provide second/third level technical support to all users of Company applications through coordination with Help Desk/Support and other IT departments.

2. Ensure the quality and performance of applications within scope.

3. Understand demands for improvement and projects, and make sure they are tailored for both business and systems

4. When appropriate, provide training to educate staff on how to use applications and technology tools effectively.

5. Work with the Application Support Specialist to manage ERP system configuration, user maintenance, audits, data integrity, solution building and break/fix, including legacy ERP systems such as Verticent Navision 2009R2, Navision 2013R2.

6. Work with business to develop reporting and business intelligence tools

7. Serve as SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA), responsible for providing technical support for the database environment related to the Verticent ERP and Navision ERP.

8. Work with the other IT departments in the design, management and monitoring of Disaster Recover and Business Continuity tools and procedures to ensure the security of the company’s data.

9. Continually works with systems, vendors and staff to seek methods of improving manual processes with automation.

10. Assist with development and maintenance of customer portals and data warehouse system

11. Be an ambassador for IT, working across the business to provide effective communication on IT matters and build relationships with other teams to ensure effective dialogue within and between departments.

12. Light travel to regional office locations (0-5%)

WHAT WE WOULD LOVE ABOUT YOU!

1. BA/BS or equivalent education and experience in Information Technology, or related discipline.

2. 2 years of experience IT Application Support.

3. Experience with Navision ERP.

4. Knowledge of process and project management.

5. Experience in object-oriented programming experience on a Windows platform.

6. Experience with JavaScript, PHP and MySql.

7. Experience with databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.

8. Experience of managing 3rd parties and 3rd party SaaS.

9. Exposure to Private Cloud infrastructures running on VMware/vSphere.

10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
