Job Title: Director, eCommerce
Sports Research is seeking a highly experienced, results-driven Director of eCommerce to lead and scale our growing digital business across both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and third-party marketplace platforms.
This high-impact role requires a strategic, analytical, and customer-obsessed leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive eCommerce roadmap aligned with company growth targets and broader brand objectives.
- Own key performance metrics including online revenue, conversion rate, AOV, CAC, and retention.
- Integrate Sports Research's wellness mission, product science, and storytelling into the digital experience across platforms.
- Lead expansion into international DTC markets and new marketplace channels, ensuring localization, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Drive innovation in digital commerce, including AI-driven personalization, bundling strategies, and emerging tech.
Channel Management
- Oversee all eCommerce platforms: branded websites (Shopify), Amazon, Walmart, and future marketplace/social commerce initiatives.
- Manage listing optimization, promotions, merchandising, and digital shelf performance across platforms.
- Ensure consistent messaging and integration of marketing campaigns across digital channels.
Customer Experience & Site Optimization
- Lead end-to-end site performance, UX/UI enhancements, CRO, and navigation improvements.
- Champion data-driven A/B testing and site personalization strategies.
- Work cross-functionally to align creative, campaign, and merchandising execution with the customer journey.
- Drive product discovery, upsell, cross-sell, and loyalty through the digital storefront.
Operations & Fulfillment Collaboration
- Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Ops teams to streamline order fulfillment, inventory planning, and shipping operations.
- Anticipate scaling challenges and build operational frameworks to support 100% YoY growth.
- Identify and implement systems and software to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and reduce inefficiencies.
Marketing Alignment
- Collaborate with Brand, Communications, and Digital Marketing teams to activate campaigns that drive traffic and sales.
- Work in tandem with the Directors of Digital Marketing and Brand to ensure paid media, affiliate, and email strategies align with eCommerce goals.
- Leverage influencer and PR efforts for DTC growth and launch initiatives.
Analytics & Reporting
- Establish a clear dashboard of eCommerce KPIs and create regular reporting cadences.
- Monitor customer behavior, traffic sources, funnel performance, and LTV to inform site and marketing strategies.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and ROI tracking for ecommerce initiatives.
- Use CRM/ESP data to personalize customer journeys and support retention and repeat purchase goals.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing eCommerce team, including specialists in site management, performance analytics, and marketplace strategy.
- Provide clear direction, training, and written SOPs to streamline roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative, high-accountability culture that supports cross-functional excellence.
Compliance & Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with eCommerce-related laws, including privacy, tax, accessibility, and data protection.
- Partner with internal teams to uphold high customer service standards, leveraging feedback loops to improve digital experiences.
7 years of eCommerce experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the dietary supplements, wellness, beauty, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) space.
