Controller for a $12M sports construction company based in Southern California, with operations and office in Murray Utah, is looking for a FT or PT Controller. Responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including managing accounts payable/receivable, managing cash flow, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing critical financial insights to company leadership, with a focus on accurate job costing, reducing expenses, maximize revenue, and project budgeting within a small team environment, while adhering to California & Utah state tax requirements.
Key Responsibilities: * Financial Reporting: * Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. * Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues, providing insights to management. * Accounts Management: * Oversee A/R and A/P processes, ensuring timely payments, collections. And maximize cashflow * Monitor and reconcile bank statements monthly. * Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts. * Budgeting and Forecasting: * Develop and maintain annual operating budgets for the company. * Provide accurate cash flow projections based on upcoming projects. * Compliance and Tax: * Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, California, and Utah state tax regulations. * Prepare financial information necessary to Tax CPA for tax returns. * Maintain accurate records for audits. * Internal Controls: * Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. * Review and update accounting policies and procedures as needed. * Overseeing business and other government filings & reports. * Team Management: * Supervise a small accounting team, including assigning tasks and providing training. * Participate in Senior Management Team. * Report to President & CEO
Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance * Proven experience as a Controller in a small business setting. * Strong understanding of construction accounting principles. * Proficient in financial and accounting software (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, and others
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
