Description


The AR/AP Team Leader ensures transactional compliance and process efficiency across the Silver Falls Capital portfolio. This role helps define and develop a controls environment that scales with our acquisition footprint. Responsible for developing standard operating procedures and documenting methodology with a continuous improvement mindset. The AR/AP Lead will support regular business reporting including finance metrics as well as partnering cross functionally to provide visibility into departmental spending. The role will lead a team of AR & AP Accountants providing support on transactional problem solving, cash flow review for incoming and outgoing funds, systems enablement and financial close deliverables. This AR/AP Lead will build a team of helpful business partners and curious problem solvers by providing escalation, visibility and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day development of the AR & AP Staff Accountants, providing transactional support and guidance while ensuring transactions are GAAP compliant.
  • Management review and back-up of all sales posting invoices, AR Collections and AP Bill payments for the portfolio.
  • Responsible for setting up a new customer onboarding process and credit terms for all businesses in the portfolio.
  • Review customer or vendor terms and conditions for adherence to portfolio standards.
  • Oversee 1099 issuance for end-of-year filing and reporting. Ensures consistent and thorough vendor evaluation and onboarding in a process that scales and adapts with new acquisitions.
  • Critically influences the company’s performance, leading to days of sales (DSO) and days payable (DPO) goal attainment.
  • Drive functional agenda around achieving one shared service transactional support team for Silver Falls Capital through process efficiency measures, standard operating procedure documentation, systems enablement, and metric tracking for both AR & AP functions.
  • Reviews performance in daily standup with team and functional stakeholders with transparent discussion of areas for immediate action and opportunities for celebrating accomplishments.
  • Manage and review weekly AP releases including ACH/Wire payments ensuring alignment with cash flow forecast and summary report.
  • Responsible for providing a weekly review of profit and loss statements for accuracy and reclass adjustments with final adjustments completed for month end close.
  • Manage and review purchasing card activities along with prepaid expenses to ensure accuracy and mitigate duplicative payments.
  • Responsible for cash and prepaid account reconciliations and corresponding support worksheets through daily, weekly, monthly workflow and postings for all Operating Companies within the portfolio.
  • ERP & Financial reporting continuous improvement, focused on one shared approach across all Operating Companies achieving sustainable and scalable improvements. Inclusive of new ERP or other systems integrations.
  • Partners with the financial close leader on accelerating the close calendar and thoroughly supporting Grants of Authority compliance and reconciliation of fiscal statements.
  • Assist in the development of direct report accounting team members to aid in growth, capability building, and team achievement.
  • Performs other related duties or projects assigned.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage transactional AR & AP team members and workflows.
  • Backup support for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Leads the talent development process for the transactional team; Assessing, communicating and effectively mentoring the teams developmental improvements.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 2 years of related experience managing others.
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of excel and database management.
  • Critical thinking and data driven analytics to derisk the business and provide actionable countermeasures.
  • Experience managing high volume transactions and driving process efficiency, driving outcomes not activities.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and candid presentation of team or business performance discussions.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Collections experience a plus.
  • ERP implementation experience a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Physical in office attendance required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
