Position Summary: The IT Specialist will support the daily technology operations and long-term digital strategies across Elite Marine, Southern Marine Supply, and Spot Zero. This role includes managing hardware, software, network systems, and data security, ensuring minimal downtime and optimized functionality. The IT Specialist will work closely with all departments to implement and maintain technology solutions that enhance productivity, security, and efficiency in a multi-location marine and yachting environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Support
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network systems.
- Manage IT helpdesk tickets and support requests, identifying issues and ensuring effective, timely resolution.
- Monitor system performance, recommending upgrades and improvements to leadership.
- Utilize vendor resources to support various systems as needed.
Network & Systems Management
- Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and security of all IT infrastructure, including servers, routers, and network systems.
- Manage network resources, including network printing and related technical resources, ensuring optimal connectivity across all sites.
- Schedule and perform regular software and hardware maintenance, ensuring systems are up-to-date.
- Use corporate monitoring tools to keep systems compliant with standards and apply or assist with operating system patches and application updates.
Hardware & Asset Management
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring adequate stock and availability for operational needs.
- Set up workstations for new employees, following standardized PC configurations and software installations.
- Ensure compliance with company software, hardware, email, and internet policies.
Customer Service & Training
- Provide on-site training to staff, facilitating smooth operations and addressing system-related queries.
- Manage customer service aspects of IT, ensuring employees have the resources needed for seamless customer and guest experiences.
Project Management & Digital Transformation
- Establish priorities for daily tasks and project-related activities based on business needs and established service levels.
- Identify and lead digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify needs, evaluate solutions, and implement new technologies.
Availability & Compliance
- Remain available, both in-person and via remote access, to support IT systems and upgrades during varied hours.
- Monitor and ensure that system updates are executed within required timeframes, communicating potential impacts on operations.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Required Experience:
· 3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally within a multi-location environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common network protocols.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems, networking hardware, and cloud storage solutions.
- Proficiency in using and managing IT ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the marine or hospitality industry.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Security .
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work onsite across multiple locations as needed.
