Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  1. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
  • Assist with financial due diligence for potential acquisitions, including reviewing financial statements, assessing risks, and identifying opportunities.
  • Support the financial integration of acquired businesses, ensuring alignment with Spotless Brands’ standards.
  • Track and report acquisition-related expenses and synergies.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate on the preparation of budgets and forecasts, integrating M&A and capital raise considerations.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to guide decision-making.
  1. Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure reconciliations and financial controls are accurate and effective.
  • Support fixed asset management, including tracking, depreciation, and reporting.
  1. Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Enhance and maintain robust internal control systems to ensure compliance with Spotless Brands’ policies and financial regulations.
  • Support external audits, including those related to M&A activities.
  1. Process Improvement and Integration:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure seamless financial integration of new entities.
  1. Team Leadership and Support:
  • Mentor and support accounting staff, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between finance and other departments to ensure cohesive operations.


Requirements (Education, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA strongly desired.

·       Minimum of 8 years of experience with managing general ledger, GAAP accounting, monthly close process, producing financial statements, cash management, budgeting, tax filings, and management of junior resources. Mastery of GAAP standards and GAAP-compliant financial reporting

·       Audit experience within a public accounting firm plus career progression of accounting positions within a company (i.e., Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, etc.) with increasing leadership responsibilities is strongly desired.

·       Experience with multi-unit retail and/or private-equity backed companies a plus.

·       This individual must be a senior leader who is a change agent and driver of innovation, willing to challenge the status quo from both an operational and team perspective.

·       Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills.

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across the business to ensure our systems and processes are running smoothly.

·       Strong attention to details and critical thinking skills.

·       Familiarity with Sage Intacct a plus, but not required.


Physical Requirements:

·       Extended periods of sitting: frequently required to stand and walk.   

·       Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.  

·       Must be able to talk and hear – in person, via computer (I.e., Teams meeting), and phone calls 

·       Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  

·       Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

·       The work environment is typical of an office setting. The noise level is usually quiet.

·       Frequent air and vehicle travel may be required.
