We help our clients build their platforms and protect their brands.
We are seeking a full-time media relations specialist who will work from 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Columbus, Ohio area. This position will pitch our clients to national and state-based media, develop communications collateral, manage client relationships and provide other services as directed. The position is responsible for significant writing and editing, and applicants must be polished writers who enjoy the practice. This salaried position is highly visible support key accounts. Some travel is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Research reporters and media outlets.
- Pitch reporters and producers via phone and email.
- Devote significant time to phone and email outreach to members of the media.
- Stay abreast of current events, including social justice movements and causes.
- Monitor the news daily.
- Monitor social media to determine coverage trends, story ideas and soft pitch opportunities.
- Write and distribute approved press advisories, press statements, pitch notes and opinion essays.
- Craft one blog post weekly.
- Post press releases and other communications content to the website as directed.

The company is not able to offer health insurance or health benefits. The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 per year. Team members receive two weeks’ vacation per year.
