Pet Sitter Position at Spotlight Sitters LLC

Spotlight Sitters LLC is seeking dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitters to provide exceptional care for pets in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to manage various pet-related tasks while ensuring the safety and well-being of pets in their care. This role requires flexibility as it includes both daytime and overnight care. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for interacting with pet owners.

Responsibilities:

• General Care for Both Dogs and Cats:
• Feed pets according to the owner's instructions.
• Provide fresh water daily.
• Clean litter boxes for cats and ensure they are kept tidy and hygienic.
• Provide daily walks and exercise for dogs, including playtime.
• Administer medications, if required.
• Ensure pets receive companionship and affection during visits.
• Monitor pets' health and behavior, promptly reporting any concerns to the owner.
• Specific Duties for Dogs:
• Walk dogs according to the schedule, ensuring proper exercise and potty breaks.
• Provide playtime and mental stimulation through interactive games and toys.
• Ensure proper behavior management and provide basic training reinforcement, if needed.
• Clean up after dogs, ensuring any messes in the home or yard are attended to.
• Specific Duties for Cats:
• Clean and refresh the litter box regularly, maintaining a clean and odor-free environment.
• Provide indoor playtime and engagement for cats, including interactive toys and enrichment activities.
• Ensure cats are comfortable, checking for any signs of stress or illness.
• Transport and Special Tasks:
• Transport pets to appointments, such as the vet or grooming, ensuring they are calm and secure during transport.
• Assist with any heavy lifting (such as moving pet supplies or assisting with larger animals).

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in pet care or animal handling.
• Comfortable with transporting animals to necessary appointments. Must have a reliable vehicle with pet restraints, such as seat belts or carriers.
• Experience with kennel environments or veterinary settings is a plus.
• Experience in providing care in client homes is required.
• Skills in animal restraint and handling are beneficial.
• Experience in customer service is valuable for effective communication with pet owners.
• Basic grooming knowledge is advantageous.

Certifications Required:

• Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• NAPPS certification is preferred but not required.
