What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Spray-Tek?
Spray-Tek is an industry leader providing custom spray drying services to leading companies in quality-conscious industries.
The company is seeking a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift at its Bethlehem location. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, focused, and flexible with a positive approach to quality and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure production adheres to cGMP guidelines.
- Perform in-process testing using basic laboratory instrumentation such as pH meters, Karl Fischer, Malvern Particle Analyzer, Ro Tap, UV Spectrophotometer, and more.
- Supervise and manage product samples taken for retention, lab testing, or customer delivery.
- Submit samples to third-party laboratories and send finished product samples to customers as needed.
- Verify cleanliness of dryers and equipment through Quality Pre-Operational Inspections and ATP swabbing.
- Confirm Batch Metrics instructions are followed and verify established Critical Control Points.
- Maintain Spray-Tek's retain inventory and conduct instrument verification as required.
- Participate in daily sanitizer checks and perform environmental monitoring swabbing, allergen verifications, and water sampling and testing on a monthly basis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a cGMP environment, particularly in food manufacturing, is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory practices and equipment, as well as advanced instrumentation such as Mettler Toledo T7 titrator and Sartorius moisture analyzer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
