Spread Bagelry, Inc is seeking a Part-Time Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in support of the day to day financials. This position would work on average 15-20 hours/week, from our Center City Office located at 24th and Walnut Street.
Key tasks for this role are processing vendor invoices in a timely manner, reconciling vendor statements, and reconciling our cash deposit tracker on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in tracking and recording accounts payable invoices with a strong understanding of US GAAP.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Tasks:
- Process vendor invoices (approximately 300-400ish per month)
- Reconcile vendor statements with our QuickBooks system on a monthly basis
- Ensure invoices are accurately recorded and entered in QuickBooks with appropriate account codes
- Process rejected invoices in Xtrachef
- Collect W-9 forms for new vendor accounts
- Assist with other Accounts Payable tasks as needed by the financial staff
Accounts Receivable Tasks:
- Reconcile and verify weekly cash deposits across all store locations using our deposit tracker spreadsheet
- Identify errors or concerns in the weekly cash deposits and bring it to the attention of the finance team
General Accounting Tasks:
- Prepare journal entries as needed
- Provide regular updates on AP to the finance team
- Maintain accurate and organized financial data
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 - 2 years in accounting or related field
- Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP guidelines
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with Toast products is a plus, but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are essential
- Ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Potential for flexible, remote work after the onboarding process
