In this role, you will…
- Lead technical efforts on controls projects, working closely with Spring Project Managers and Engineering Leads.
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback throughout project lifecycles to fellow engineers.
- Develop PLC programs using Rockwell Automation software.
- Design and implement HMI/SCADA systems across various platforms.
- Create device layouts and electrical panel designs using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Commission systems onsite—troubleshoot, test, and validate control systems in real-world environments.
- Work directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality and timely project execution.
- Participate in project scheduling and agile sprint planning to manage deliverables and timelines.
- 7 years of controls engineering experience, ideally in the material handling or automation industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field—or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership or mentorship experience in previous roles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
- Solid experience with Rockwell Automation tools (Logix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, etc.).
- Comfortable with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%, primarily for onsite commissioning and customer collaboration.
- Passionate about continuous growth—both personally and professionally.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general project documentation.
- Experience working in a project-based, consulting-style environment.
- Exposure to customer-facing engineering work, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A background in growing into leadership from hands-on field engineering work.
- Proximity to our home office in Nashville, TN is a strong plus, especially for collaboration and mentorship. While we encourage and support remote work, being nearby is highly valued for this level of role.
