Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Data Abstractor to assist in the integration of Meditech Expanse into EPIC. This non-direct patient care position will focus on abstracting medication and allergy information from patient medical records to support system integration. The ideal candidate will help consolidate data, make clinical and medical updates to patient records, and ensure data is accurately transcribed into EPIC. This is an essential role in improving data accuracy and facilitating seamless integration between healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Abstraction: Abstract medication and allergy data from patient medical records and transcribe it accurately into EPIC's discrete fields.
- System Integration: Assist in the consolidation of data from Meditech Expanse into EPIC to streamline clinical workflows.
- Clinical and Medical Updates: Make necessary clinical and medical updates to patient records within EPIC based on specified project requirements.
- Data Collection: Collect important patient data from current medical records and accurately transcribe it into appropriate fields within the EPIC system.
- Electronic Record Navigation: Navigate through electronic medical record systems (Meditech Expanse and EPIC) to extract and enter relevant clinical data.
- Project Requirements Compliance: Review medical records to ensure abstracted data aligns with defined project specifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Minnesota LPN License (required).
- Traveler companies must be registered with Minnesota.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly EPIC and Meditech Expanse.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data transcription and abstraction.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of organization.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in clinical data abstraction or healthcare IT projects.
- Familiarity with both EPIC and Meditech Expanse systems.
- Experience working in non-direct patient care roles.
