PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Human Resource Services Assistant will provide support to all areas of the Office of Human Resource Services, which includes but not limited to answering the phones and emails as assigned; general inquiries on recruitment and employment, employee records, compensation management, and benefits administration. This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- High School Graduate/GED
- Three years job related experience
Preferred
- Three years direct experience in Human Resources, employee services or related services
- Fluent in Spanish
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in both written and verbal use of English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Strong organizational skills, accurate, thorough and able to monitor work with excellence
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
- Working knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning other software
- Strong problem-solving skills, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner
- Effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform general office clerical support tasks; answer multiple telephone lines, process outgoing and incoming mail, operate facsimile machine and computers.
- Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Greet and answer inquiries for both internal and external
- Serve as a point person for all internal and external
- Assist the Asst. Superintendent – HRS Operations with projects and initiatives as needed.
- Help support the scheduling of the HRS Conference room.
- Provides overall support to the HRS
- Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
Overtime is required as necessary.
Duties performed require considerable initiative and tact. The position requires leadership qualities such as: adaptability, flexibility, dependability and accountability. Maintain confidential information and frequent contact with all levels within and outside of the district.
