What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Springbrook Hospital?
Responsible for performing routine general maintenance and repair work, and performs utility work associated with building services to include grounds keeping and routine floor surface upkeep.
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
One (1) year of experience maintenance and repairs including painting, carpentry, electricity, plumbing. Training/education experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualification.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of safety practices and mechanical knowledge of equipment operations and techniques of repair.
- Knowledge of key, locks and techniques of repair, installation, and maintenance of locks and locking systems.
- Ability to accomplish minor masonry, plastering, tile setting, and concrete work.
- Ability to use simple measuring tools.
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Ability to interpret instructions and read simple blueprints.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in repair to hospital equipment, windows and performs minor repair of mechanical equipment.
- Assists in installing and repairing electrical and plumbing fixtures.
- Assists in repairing and installing drywall.
- Demonstrates ability to accomplish minor masonry, plastering, tile setting and concrete work.
- Build shelves, repairs countertops and performs other general woodworking and carpentry work. Familiar with the basic techniques of painting.
- Replaces filters, belts, and light bulbs, adjusts motors, and Lubricates and adjusts other machinery parts.
- Familiar with the basic techniques of painting.
- Capable of performing basic troubleshooting.
- Capable of performing routine grounds maintenance functions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety practices and mechanical knowledge of equipment operations and techniques of repair. Cleans working area and throws away excessive trash.
- Demonstrates ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Demonstrates ability to solve practical problems, use fractions, decimals, and percentages, and read and write common English, interpret instructions, read simple blueprints, etc., and ability to use simple measuring tools required by regulatory agencies and maintain appropriate documentation.
