Lead Montessori Guide

The Montessori Guide will be responsible for facilitating student learning according to the principles of the Montessori Method, while fostering a total Spanish immersion environment. The role involves creating a prepared environment that supports the academic, emotional, and social development of children, helping them become independent learners within a diverse and collaborative community.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing the environment: Create and maintain a Montessori classroom that encourages exploration, curiosity, and independent learning in a Spanish immersion context.
• Guiding individualized learning: Observe and assess each student’s progress, providing opportunities for learning based on each child’s needs and interests.
• Spanish immersion: Teach in Spanish consistently, promoting understanding and use of the language through hands-on activities, conversations, and educational materials.
• Collaboration with the educational team: Work closely with other guides, teachers, and staff to ensure a consistent and enriching educational experience for students.
• Social-emotional development: Support students' personal growth by fostering independence, mutual respect, and responsibility.
• Promoting positive discipline: Implement strategies to encourage a respectful and self-regulated classroom, in line with Montessori principles.
• Parent communication: Participate in regular meetings with parents to inform them of their child’s progress and suggest ways to support learning at home.
• Community involvement: Be an active part of the school community, participating in events, extracurricular activities, and professional development meetings.

Requirements:

• Montessori Guide certification (preferably AMS, AMI or Macte.).
• Fluent Spanish language skills, both spoken and written.
• Previous experience working with children in a Montessori environment, preferably in a language immersion school.
• Passion for working with children and a commitment to their development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.

Desirable qualities:

• Experience in multicultural environments.
• Knowledge and experience in developing educational materials in Spanish.
• Positive, creative, and flexible attitude.
