Description:
The Box Office and Front of House Manager is a patron facing position and often the communities first impression of the Springer Opera House. Thus, this professional, management level position is critical to the financial success of our organization. The Box Office and Front of House Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing financial and operational procedures necessary for overseeing annual ticket sales, season ticket sales and filtering walk-in inquiries.The position will also schedule house managers and front of house volunteers for all Mainstage and Studio series productions. This will require a dependable, self-motivated individual who can organize a professional Box Office that can comfortably deliver a high level of service in a high traffic environment.
Duties:
- Oversee all Box Office Operations
- Follow Box Office procedures and policies ensuring an excellent level of service to patrons, season ticket holders, donors, volunteers, and patrons with special needs.
- Recruit, train, and schedule the Box Office Associates ensuring each associate is abiding to the Springer and Box Office policies and Procedures
- Sell tickets, exchange tickets and process complimentary ticket orders and group sales.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate mailing list and database including gathering patron data in all ticket transactions and using appropriate punctuation within patron records to ensure mail merges are accurate and complete.
- Maintain accurate and up to date customer information and sales records within the ticketing software system
- Maintain positive, professional rapport with staff and patrons and provide outstanding customer service via telephone, email and interpersonal communications
- Prepare deposits and accurate shift settlement reports
- Provide CFO with required financial reports for all earned income activities and show reports
- Provide CFO with hourly employee timesheets
- Manage group sales and group sales database
- Provide patron and Box office services for performances (evenings and Matinees)
- Work with the Events and Rental Coordinator for box office services to renters
- Maintain accurate phone menus and greetings
- Schedule and solicit house managers and Front of House volunteers for Mainstage and Studio performances
- Maintain volunteer database
- Participate in Administrative Meetings
- Greet and direct walk-in traffic
- Oversee lobby decor including seasonal displays and historic cabinets ensuring all Front of House areas are presentable to patrons.
- Serve as a docent for guided historic tours
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Operations and CEO
Requirements
- 2 years customer service experience
- 2 years computer experience, proficient in Google Suite and Excel
- Box office systems a plus
- Accuracy, solid accounting skills and good follow-through
- High Stress Tolerance

- Excellent communication and phone skills
- Positive attitude, team player and professional
- Organized and able to easily handle several jobs simultaneously
- Creative problem solver, able to work with minimal supervision
Hours of Operation:
Box Office Monday-Friday 11:00-3:00 for in person and phone sales
Two hours prior to each show time and 30 minutes after show starts
