What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHR Index Clerk II position at Springfield Clinic?
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Index Clerk II is responsible for electronically building the chart for the individual patient, selecting the appropriate patient in the imaging system, ensuring the appropriate chart structure, selecting the system folder, indexing the correct document date, assigning an owner to the document, and initiating a review document task for the provider for appropriate work types.

Principal Responsibilities
Access the appropriate imaging system for the inserts to be processed. Eye department uses MedFlow and the remainder of the Clinic uses IMPACT.
Electronically identify the correct patient in the imaging system.
Initiate and send a "Review Document" task to the provider, and insert scanned documents into the appropriate patient folder.
Continually assess the "superstar" work types in the TeleNurse(D) and EKG(D) folders, and index the documents appropriately. This task will receive priority over all others, and will be completed according to established turnaround guidelines.
Print the daily indexing assignments.
Scan documents into IMPACT if requested.
Quality Check folders as requested.
Maintain a positive attitude in working to achieve departmental goals.
Demonstrate professional behavior in associations with patients and employees both within and outside the complex.
Follow all Clinic policies and procedures.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.

Education / Experience
High School graduate or GED required and 90-day work experience in document imaging required.
Electronic record forms / placement comprehension test will be required for successful completion of the probationary period.
