What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drama - Costume Designer - SHS position at SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL?
The Costume Designer is responsible for reading the entire script, marking, and making notes on areas that will affect the costume. Liaise with the Director on the overall vision of the play. Design the costume for each character - find or build costume(s). Meet with the cast to get measurements and sizes. Work with student assistants to dress the cast and prep them to assist the cast during the production. Be the liaison to local theaters to borrow costumes and props - arrange to pick them up and return them at the close of the production. Shop for and purchase costumes and costuming materials when needed. Gather costumes at the close of the production and have them properly laundered and stored.
