Job Summary: The Clinician Lead of Behavioral Health at North Star Health is responsible for providing high quality patient care along with leadership and oversight of the behavioral health department. This role involves supporting clinicians, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. The Clinician Lead will work collaboratively with other departments to integrate behavioral health services into the overall care model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and Site Directors to support the daily operations of the behavioral health clinicians.
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans to enhance behavioral health services.
- Supervise and support a team of mental health professionals, including therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
- Hold regular meetings to discuss patient cases, departmental needs, and goals.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide clinical guidance and training to staff to improve therapeutic skills and knowledge.
- Conduct crisis intervention and provide consultation services as needed.
- Compliance and Quality Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal mental health regulations.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment progress and departmental activities.
- Collaboration and Integration:
- Work closely with other medical professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate behavioral health services into the overall care model.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address clinical and screening concerns.
- Administrative Duties:
Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training behavioral health staff.- Participate in annual performance reviews for clinicians.
Qualifications:
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health management, preferably in an FQHC or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to behavioral health services.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Requirements
- 80% Direct patient care, 20% clinical leadership.
- Travel between sites required.
