About the Program: The Safe Space After School Program provides a supportive environment for LGBTQIA students, promoting social-emotional learning and personal growth. The program operates across multiple sites, offering a variety of enrichment activities and support services.
Role Overview: The Springfield Pride Parade Organization seeks a dedicated and organized Program Manager for the Safe Space After School Program. The Program Manager will oversee program operations, manage administrative tasks, and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders. This role requires a blend of remote work and on-site presence at program locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Oversight:
- Conduct monthly visits to each Safe Space site (2 sites as of January 2025) to monitor program quality and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Youth Advisory Board/Student Council:
- Develop and manage a youth advisory board/student council in coordination with the planning for the Springfield Pride Parade on June 4, 2025. (e.g. monthly meeting.)
- Collaborate closely with enrichment teachers and the executive director to ensure effective coordination and alignment with organizational goals.
- Liaison Duties/Teacher Support:
- Host monthly virtual meetings for enrichment teachers to collaborate, exchange best practices, and strengthen connections.
- Schedule one-on-one check-ins with enrichment teachers at least once a month to provide support and address any needs or concerns.
- Serve as the primary contact between enrichment teachers and the executive director, facilitating communication and resolving issues.
- Communications:
- Manage internal and external communications for the program with families, school leadership (e.g. draft monthly newsletter, emails, social media updates, etc.)
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the successful operation of the program.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in program management, preferably in educational and/or nonprofit settings (teacher certification strongly preferred.)
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with LGBTQIA issues and a commitment to supporting diverse communities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with remote work technology and in-person site visits.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 per week
