Position Summary:

Join our team as a Laboratory Supervisor and play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services. This position operates in a hospital environment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee laboratory operations, supervise staff, and ensure all diagnostic and testing procedures are performed accurately and efficiently. This role includes hands-on laboratory work, team leadership, and collaboration with medical staff to support high-quality patient outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic procedures on blood and body fluids, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Oversee and conduct testing in various lab sections: chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, and more.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and manage inventory and supply orders.
• Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history for actionable insights.
• Ensure laboratory services adhere to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
• Assist with laboratory-related problem-solving and collaborate with administration and physicians.
• Participate in hiring, training, and annual evaluations of laboratory personnel.
• Prepare department schedules to ensure adequate coverage and timely workflow.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of lab tests, procedures, and results.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and professional work environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience:
• Minimum 4 years in a laboratory setting.
• At least 2 years of managerial experience (preferred).
• Certifications:
• Registered as a medical laboratory technologist (required).
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in lab technologies and equipment.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

• Must be able to:
• Remain stationary 50% of the time and traverse the facility 50% of the time.
• Transport objects weighing up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., N95 masks) as required.

Pay: $40.29 - $44.25 per hour
