1. Supervision and Team Leadership

  • Team Coordination: Reports directly to the Chief Engineer for assignments, specific duties and helps delegate to technicians, ensuring proper coverage for all essential operations.

2. Maintenance and Repairs

  • Oversee Routine Maintenance: Supervise regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment or infrastructure to prevent downtime.

  • Handle Emergency Repairs: Address any urgent maintenance or repair issues that arise during the night, ensuring minimal impact on production or operations.

  • Equipment Monitoring: Ensure that all machinery, systems, and equipment are operating within normal parameters and intervene as needed.

3. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure Safety Protocols: Monitor that all engineering activities adhere to safety standards and regulations, especially in high-risk environments (e.g., factories, construction sites).

  • Conduct Safety Audits: Perform or coordinate safety audits and inspections to identify hazards or unsafe practices.

  • Emergency Response: Take the lead in emergency situations (e.g., accidents, fires, or critical system failures), ensuring that appropriate actions are taken promptly.

4. Operational Efficiency

  • Monitor Performance: Review key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment efficiency, uptime, and performance during the night shift.

  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Diagnose complex engineering issues and determine appropriate solutions to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare shift reports, document maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions, and relay information to Chief Engineer.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes, engineering workflows, and team efficiency.

  • Implement New Technologies: Stay informed about new technologies and practices in engineering and maintenance and integrate them into the team's activities.

6. Reporting and Communication with Management

  • Night Shift Performance Review: Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance and challenges encountered during the night shift.

  • Problem Escalation: Notify management of any critical issues that may require further escalation or attention.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage, motivate, and guide a diverse team.
