Summary of the Job: In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent of HR and Senior Director of HR, the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Hiring is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for employees. This role includes developing and implementing recruitment strategies, job fairs, ensuring compliance with credentialing requirements, and supporting training and development initiatives for supervisors and leaders. The Assistant Director will work closely with HR leadership to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment efforts, while also performing other related duties as assigned.

- Oversee all phases of school-wide recruitment including job postings, pre-screening, applicant testing, and interviews of all applicants including substitutes and temporary employees.
- Build partnerships with local colleges within our school site communities in growing our recruiting and hiring efforts, including participation in local job fairs annually.
- Coordinate and represent the organization at job fairs and recruitment events, fostering relationships with potential candidates and ensuring effective branding and talent acquisition strategies.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Design and implement effective strategies to attract qualified candidates and establish the school as an employer of choice.
- Develop, compile, and edit applicant testing materials as needed.
- Provide guidance and human resource support to hiring managers regarding all employment positions.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Attends board meetings as required in presenting recruiting and hiring updates.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding applicant records, including testing results, interview notes, and references.
- Address human relations, work performance, employee morale, and productivity issues, and develop training solutions for staff.
- Maintain current HR records for all non-selected applicants, including interview notes and references.
- Foster effective communication and relationships between management and staff.
- Develop and update job descriptions.
- Maintain the Position Control and Equipment Control.
- Compile data such as application statistics, testing results, and other recruitment records as needed.
- Recommend applicants for approval to hiring managers.
- Update position requisition and other recruiting forms as necessary.
- Perform statistical analysis and provide reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources.
- Document and oversee HR hiring processes and procedures.
- Serve as a member of the Leadership Team.
- Stay current with job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional development, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
- Oversee credentialing of certificated staff in collaboration with the Credential Analyst.
- Collaborate with the HR leaders to oversee staff training and development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree is strongly desired.
- A minimum of 5 years of recruiting and hiring and/or human resource management experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years managing employees.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is highly desired.
Required Licenses and/or Certificates:
- Must possess an appropriate California Driver's License and maintain possession of such license during the course of employment;
- Have an acceptable driving record;
- Must be insurable at standard rates by the School's insurance carrier and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to problem-solve a situation with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software, preferably Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
