Job description

Springs Medical Billing is looking for an experienced competent Medical Biller to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to help guarantee the company’s revenues. The Medical Biller will be responsible for inputting different types of data into multiple billing platforms as well as contacting patients and insurance companies regarding outstanding revenues. Applicants should exhibit professionalism, trustworthiness, and have excellent communication and attention to detail, as well be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
• Post charges
• Post insurance and patient payments
• Follow up on unpaid claims
• Check insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discount
• Calling insurance companies regarding denials and discrepancies in payments
• Researching and appealing denied claims
• Calling patient's regarding past due balances
• Answering all patient and insurance inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts

Skills

• Proven experience as Medical Biller
• Adherence to HIPAA laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, and collections.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (including Excel)
• Experience with AdvancedMD a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims
• Proficiency in English
• Results-driven and have patience
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• High degree of attention to detail
• Trustworthiness

Position requires a passable background check. Position has flexible hours and will be remote once training is complete. Training will be on site. Pay is based on experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
