Under the direction of the Fire Chief this position provides general secretarial support for the Fire Dept.
Duties:
Essential job functions include providing basic office support and performs general secretarial work such as filing, typing letters and memos as directed.
May greet and serve as a receptionist to the department, must be able to process paperwork according to policies and procedures,
Orders supplies and schedules maintenance for office equipment, Maintains records and logs of activities for a variety of services and programs, which may include basic accounting skills,
Manage schedules, appointments and meeting for the dept.
Prepare logistics for meetings, workshops, and other dept. events.
May assist in preparing specialized reports or projects as assigned.
performs other duties as assigned.
Shift is part-time generally between the hours of 8am to 5pm
Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or GED. Must have a minimum of 1 year of office experience. Must be able to operate a computer and type a minimum of 40 wpm. Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain filing systems and other data storage/retrieval systems. Must have courteous telephone skills and must work well with the public, must be able to quickly take accurate messages. Must be a High School graduate or equivalent with 1 year of office experience. Public Safety experience helpful.
