The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable team and ensuring the timely processing of the company’s payables. In addition, this role will have responsibilities for Bank Reconciliations, account reconciliations and journal entries. This position must be able to work under tight deadlines, be detail orientated, troubleshoot and enjoy working in a team focused work environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the processing and payment of accounts payable invoices
- Manage, review and audit invoices entered into the system for accuracy
- Analyze feasibility of discounts related to timing of payments
- Review and process Expense Reports, assist employees with questions on expense report entry
- Code and enter credit card statements monthly
- Reconcile monthly Owner Operator Insurance invoice
- Review weekly check runs
- Request vendor statements monthly
- Lead processing of Owner Operator weekly payments
- Assist Controller with monthly reconciliations / management of fuel card payments and fuel tank inventory
- Support monthly accounting close via accruals and recurring journal entries
- Maintain accurate daily cash report, to include reconciling items to bank balance
- Assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare 1099s for multiple entities
- Prepare and maintain accurate records for annual audits
- Assist the Assistant Controller, Controller and CFO with other accounting duties as assigned
