What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Specialist - Sprouts Brand position at Sprouts Farmers Market?
The Sprouts Brand Department Specialist is responsible for assisting with monitoring, maintaining, and executing against the Sprouts Brand merchandising strategies within assigned departments to drive revenue and growth. This position will remain current on the performances of all existing Sprouts Brand products to aide in product lifecycle management, while also assisting with and playing a central role in the new product development process. This role is an integral part of the Sprouts Brand team contributing ideas and expertise to support projects ensuring successful achievement of departmental goals and objectives. This position will report to the Category Strategy Manager (CSM) of Sprouts Brand.
Overview of Responsibilities
Assist in the execution of Sprouts Brand Assortment Strategies, including development of items from idea-to-shelf to achieve differentiation while also maximizing quality
Manage and monitor product development projects as needed for CSM
Collect samples, specifications, and other documentation for new items
Aide in market research and evaluation of business opportunities
Support CSM’s in the development and achievement of merchandising plans that drive increased share and category growth; including inventory management, supplier relationships, site visits and promotional activities.
Deliver and maintain consistent product quality within brand promise by being an active participant in the sensory phases of product development
Works collaboratively with internal cross functional departments including but not limited to: brand management, merchandising, marketing, legal, logistics and product safety
Attends weekly meetings as required and support CSM as needed for Sprouts brand
Maintains a high level of industry knowledge through store visits, data/trend analysis, tradeshows, manufacturing facility visits and industry news sources
Work on Site 3 days a week and remote 2 days a week

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two (2) years of experience related to retail purchasing, marketing and/or merchandising
Retail industry Our Brands experience preferred
Ability to influence without authority and maintain strategic relationships
Requires outstanding communication skills amongst a strong interpersonal attitude that demonstrates organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work and multi-task across many assignments
Requires experience in Microsoft Suite, with a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High degree of creativity and ability to work independently
