Please note this is a hybrid role based out of our Phoenix, AZ Support Office. The Senior IT Planning Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the IT Team to plan and execute the IT Portfolio and enhance operational efficiency. This position focuses on managing IT Portfolio reporting, supporting intake and prioritization of new work, tracking resource utilization and associated labor capitalization, ensuring adherence to technology governance standards and supporting/administering technology that enables these functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent project management skills, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Overview of Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Project Portfolio Management & Reporting: Manage and report on the IT project portfolio; provide consolidated views of project status, timelines, budget, risk, and resource allocation for enterprise-view of active and planned IT work. Ensure that all relevant information is accessible and up to date.
- Intake & Prioritization: Define and manage process for intake of new work and cross-functional prioritization. Provide insights and recommendations for portfolio prioritization and optimization.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT initiatives, labor efficiency, and budget accuracy. Maintain scorecard, prepare reports and presentations for leadership and teams.
- Labor Tracking: Develop and implement systems for tracking labor resources allocation across IT projects and Run-the-Business work, ensuring accurate reporting and utilization metrics. Collaborate with project managers to monitor and optimize workforce allocation and identify resource needs
- Capitalization Management: Oversee the capitalization process for IT labor, ensuring compliance with financial policies and accuracy in asset reporting. Work with finance teams to maintain transparency in budgeting, forecasting and actualization.
- Product Ownership: Serve as the product owner/administrator for the IT work management tool, ensuring it meets the needs of the organization. Gather feedback from users, prioritize enhancements, and facilitate training and support. Support initial implementation and launch.
- Technology Governance: Ensure adherence to technology governance standards and best practices. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish and monitor compliance frameworks for IT projects.
- Organizational Change Management: Support organizational adoption of IT Planning tools and processes by deploying thoughtful OCM tactics across both business and IT teams. Collaborate with OCM resources.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within IT planning, project execution, and governance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in IT planning, analysis, or project management, with a strong focus on system administration, resource tracking, governance and portfolio management
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Ability to create presentations to simply communicate complex material, tailoring level of detail to audience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools; ability to learn and administer new systems, recommend optimizations. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools) is a plus.
