Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director-Medical Staff Office / Director of Nursing to join our leadership team in Ukiah, CA. This position plays a key role in overseeing the strategic direction, management, and development of both the medical staff office and nursing services at our healthcare facility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a positive working environment for our staff.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Staff Office Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Medical Staff Office, including credentialing, privileging, and maintaining accurate records for physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Nursing Leadership: Lead the nursing department to ensure high standards of patient care, implement evidence-based practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in clinical services.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and state/federal laws related to nursing and medical staff.
- Quality & Safety: Promote and participate in initiatives to improve patient safety and quality of care by working closely with the quality assurance team and medical staff leadership.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and budgets for both the medical staff office and nursing department.
- Staff Development: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to medical staff office personnel and nursing leadership teams, fostering professional development and growth.
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate effective communication between physicians, nurses, administration, and other stakeholders to enhance operational efficiencies and patient outcomes.
- Patient Care Advocacy: Advocate for patient-centered care, ensuring nursing practices align with best practices for patient care and the hospital’s mission.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 2 years in a senior management or director-level position.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of medical staff office operations, credentialing, privileging, nursing practice standards, regulatory compliance, and healthcare policies.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams and projects.
Experience Required: Must be at least two years recent experience in specialty.
