We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Manager to oversee daily operations at our manufacturing facility. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for optimizing production efficiency, setting and tracking performance key indicators, relationship building with suppliers, vendors and Spyderco staff, and driving continuous growth and improvement.
The factory runs 24 hours a day, 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) the Plant Manager will have in office hours Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm but available for staff outside of office hours.
Compensation: $140,000.00-$200,000.00 Annual Salary - Exempt
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another related field
- 7 or more years in a Senior Leadership Role
- 5 or more years with Machine Shop experience
- Engineering and print reading experience
- NetSuite experience is a PLUS
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively develop, implement and monitor day-to-day operations
- Overseeing policies, procedures, and processes designed to minimize costs and maximize quality
- Managing production control, maintenance, cost accounting, supply, logistics, and distribution
- Build and maintain relationships with department leads, external partners, and vendors
- Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
- Uphold organization policies and standards while ensuring legislative regulations are followed
Additional Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with a team and closely with Human Resources on personnel decisions
- Assist with department budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural changes
- Devise efficient strategies to ensure growth of programs, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize cost
Skills:
- Superior knowledge of operational functions and principles – including finance, production, and employee management
- Strong mechanical understanding of basic machining and machining equipment
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes
- Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations
