Spyderco, Inc., a conservative, established and growing manufacturing company committed to superior sporting, tactical and culinary knives and accessories, is looking for a Sheath Finisher to join our Manufacturing team. This position is responsible for hands on work within our Sheath department, utilizing skill and ability to finalize detail on individual pieces and full product. Sheath Finishers will perform various steps, including but not limited to, drilling, buffing, polish, deburring, sanding, reaming, and sharpening, putting the finishing touches on product of various materials while also upholding highest of quality measures.
Schedule: Monday -Friday 6:30am-3:30pm
Compensation: $20-21.00/hr. (Experience, skills, and knowledge will be taken into consideration and adjusted accordingly)
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Fulfill given production work orders in a timely manner that adheres to our schedule.
- Work in both one-piece flow and batching to process parts.
- Manipulation of various parts through multiple processing steps.
- Utilize various sanding and buffing equipment in which to conduct these processing steps.
- Grip objects repeatedly in repetitive motions while maintaining a high level of hand-eye coordination.
- Make adjustments on machines as needed for product specifications.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor to obtain necessary materials and supplies.
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping as needed within the department.
- Inspect Parts in Bulk Quantities
- Maintain a high level of quality workmanship.
- Keep a clean workstation and maintain organization.
- Promptly Communicate Any Equipment/Safety Issues to Lead
- Maintain Clean and Safe Work Area Following 5S Principles.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in part finishing, material removal, or polishing is preferred.
- Woodworking experience is a plus.
- Machinist related schooling programs and/or courses preferred (In lieu of experience).
- Experience in the use of measuring tools and instruments, including but not limited to, micrometers and calipers is preferred.
- Possesses rudimentary understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Able to read and understand manufacturing documents, reviewing and holding tolerances and specifications.
- Netsuite or ERP experience is a plus.
- Knife knowledge is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 55lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, and reach frequently.
- Must be able to be on feet for up to 2 hours at a time.
- Must be able to tolerate repetitive Motions.
