Position Description : POSITION SUMMARY
A successful Aerial Lineman shall access specific areas to install, maintain, and / or repair a customer's telecommunications equipment. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction; familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines and poles, and the functionality of each; ability to use cable placement equipment and tools; ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
tEnsures adherence to and demonstrates a sound understanding of safety best practices and regulations
tAble to build aerial plant to include running / lashing / over lashing strand, coax, and fiber cables in new and rebuild construction.
tAble to climb poles as needed
tAble to complete pole transfers
tQualified to operate a bucket truck.
tCapable of utilizing associated tools for the above described work.
tPositively motivates crew by being a team player
tQualified to follow safe work practices with a strong understanding of OSHA / DOT standards for construction.
tAble to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods of time
tAble to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment
tExcellent manual dexterity
tAble to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing
tAble to operate equipment, including, but not limited to an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools, and understanding the functioning thereof

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
tMust be 21 or older
tAble to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
tTwo plus years as an aerial lineman in a capacity similar to current requirements
tFiber construction background (aerial, splicing, underground, etc.)
tValid drivers license and excellent driving record
tMust be able to pass a DOT physical
tMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
tHigh School Diploma or GED

tUndergraduate degree
tLineman Training (TVPPA)
tAble to splice coax
tCapable of installing power supplies
23.00 - $30.00 Hourly
