Program Overview

The residential recovery programs are structured rehabilitation-oriented treatment focused on trauma-informed care and harm reduction. It is designed for motivated individuals who want to enhance the quality of their day-to-day lives. Through active engagement in groups and the development of the community, we will work together to overcome challenges that interfere with our abilities to live life to the fullest.
Residents will be assigned a weekly life skill to ensure ongoing cleanliness/maintenance of the house. Residents are expected to take part in assigned life skills. Staff will help if residents are unsure about how to complete a task. Life Skills are necessary to independent living.
On average, residents spend between three to six months in the three phases of the residential program. Each phase of the program rewards residents with increasing levels of responsibilities and freedoms. Throughout the program, residents are supported by deep expertise from SMG’s outpatient services, our core capability. Residents are also able to stay with our outpatient practice post-discharge for continuity of care.
Role Summary
The Program Director is the operational leader of the COERRS residence. The PD, in coordination with the residential Clinical Director (CD) and Chief Medical Officer shall ensure that all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures are being maintained and followed. The PD is the ultimate decisionmaker within the residence and is therefore the point person for SMG leadership to contact regarding all operational metrics such as census count, team member recruitment, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performance Metrics:
- Monitor and report on key operational metrics, including:
- Bed Occupancy: Ensure consistent occupancy at or near capacity
- Staffing Levels: Maintain full employee complement required for safe and effective resident care.
- Resident Satisfaction: Conduct regular reviews of satisfaction surveys and address feedback.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all licensing and accreditation standards in coordination with the Compliance and Billing teams.
- Budgetary oversight: Ensure the COERRS residence expenses is within the approved budget .
2. Program Leadership:
- Oversee COERRS residential facility to ensure optimal performance
- Maintaining maximum bed occupancy and associated staffing level
- Foster collaboration between operational and clinical priorities with updates to the COERRS Playbook as needed (and no less than annually); weekly meetings with SMG leadership
- Weekly supervisory meetings (i.e. 1-on-1s) with CD
- Provide coverage on-site at residences who have leaders out of office simultaneously under unforeseen circumstances (i.e. FMLA, termination, and resignation).
3. Operational Oversight:
- Ensure program operations align with occupancy and staffing requirements, optimizing resources to safely serve the maximum number of residents
- Implement processes to monitor and maintain bed occupancy rates, including efficient admissions and discharge procedures
- Manage program budgets and resource allocation to support operations while meeting fiscal targets
4. Clinical Oversight:
- Support the CD in delivering evidence-based care tailored to residents' co-occurring disorders
- Review and ensure clinical documentation, treatment plans, and services align with regulatory and organizational standards
- Collaborate with the CD to address escalated clinical or resident care issues
5. Staffing and Recruitment:
- Execute recruitment, training, and retention strategies to ensure full staffing.
- Monitor staffing levels and compliance with legal requirements to maintain resident safety and high-quality care.
- Oversee onboarding and professional development programs to build a skilled, multidisciplinary team.
6. Resident-Centered Care:
- Oversee implementation of therapeutic services to meet resident needs effectively
- Address and resolve resident concerns or issues escalated from staff or clinical teams
- Promote a therapeutic and supportive environment that facilitates recovery and community reintegration
Specific Tasks :
1. Oversee daily operations of the COERRS House program
a. Provide supervision to the Clinical Director, and other staff as needed
b. Deliver individual, group and crisis intervention therapeutic services as needed
c. Participate in on-call rotation as administrative back-up
d. Review and approve program policies and procedures
e. Assists all staff in becoming proficient in evidence-based practices (EBP) and providing fidelity to the EBP models
2. In collaboration with CD (and clinical staff):
a. Monitor quality and concurrent reviews and utilization management
b. Manage and coordinate group treatment scheduling and manage attendance data base in collaboration with CD
c. Coordinate and manage insurance authorizations
3. Ensure compliance with established operational, financial, and HR standards:
a. Ensure operational budgets are followed, specifically related to expense control, ordering, purchasing, and invoice payment; this includes monitoring ordering and purchasing websites, maintaining spreadsheet for monthly budget reconciliation
b. Ensure payroll and other HR functions are occurring per State law
c. Act in accordance with Square Medical Group’s Standards of Care at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries and client confidentiality while working from a strength-based perspective.

This individual will play a critical role in growth at SMG given the investment in development of the COERRS program and its associated real estate. Qualifications
- Preferred: Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field but relevant experience prioritized; advanced licensure (e.g., LICSW, LMHC)
- Preferred: Minimum of 5 years of experience in BH and/or SUD, with at least 3 years in leadership overseeing co-occurring disorders programs
- Deep knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations, including experience with co-occurring disorder population (with Evidence Based Practices specific to the program model)
- Experience in building staff capacity to treat both substance use and mental health disorders
- Third-party experience with insurance authorizations, quality and concurrent reviews and utilization management
- Experience with EHR; InSync a plus
- An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management
- Working knowledge of operations and financial management
- Other requirements include proficiency in the MS Office Suite, strong organizational skills and superb communication skills.
