Job Summary
We are a growing company, expanding our purchasing department and looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to handle purchasing functions and inventory control. The position includes the responsibility for creating the best method for day-to-day purchasing operations, establish buyer goals based on operational inventory needs, and negotiate for best opportunities to procure supplies and services for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Vice President of Operations, other Purchasing employees, Controller and Scheduling to procure the required materials to ensure required services and supplies are available for manufacturing needs.
- Management of all Purchasing functions.
- Monitor inventory levels including raw materials, general supplies, and finished goods.
- Purchase all materials, services to maintain cost effective manufacturing operations.
- Analyze cost savings on purchasing.
- Maintain, develop, and improve existing supplier relationships.
- Works with outside suppliers, internal project managers and department managers.
- Collaborate with Management to ensure cost efficient and timely deployment of required purchases and develop opportunities for cost savings.
- Monthly inventory reporting based of materials and value on hand.
- Responsible for continuous improvement and re-engineering processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within department and help drive cost efficiencies in other areas of the company.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to protect company assets.
- Participate in Management and scheduling meetings.
- Forecast the needs of manufacturing enabling consistent supply chain management of materials required to maintain optimal production scheduling balanced with fiscal responsibility of resources.
Requirements
- BA/BS in business, or related field required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing.
- Strong knowledgebase of supply chain management in manufacturing, printing services.
- Successful experience building organizational capability and strengthening an organization’s capacity to grow and adapt, including upgrading and developing talent, and building the bench strength within the organization.
- Print Industry experience preferred.
- Avanti Slingshot experience preferred or similar Print MIS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
