SR Home Improvements is looking for a full-time remodeling estimator for our Fairfax location.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the home improvement or construction industry
• Experience with VA building codes and home improvement projects codes
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
• Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Position Summary: As a Remodeling Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing project requirements, providing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring a seamless process from initial consultation with the client to project completion
• Your expertise will guide clients in making informed decisions and help us deliver exceptional service
• Conduct on-site assessments and measurements to understand project scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
• Collaborate with clients to discuss project goals, budgets, and timelines
• Work with company designers to provide specifications for job plans.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project alignment
• Monitor project progress and update estimates as needed
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks
• Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, materials, and regulations
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation

Position Summary: As a Remodeling Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing project requirements, providing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring a seamless process from initial consultation to project completion. Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site assessments and measurements to understand project scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
• Collaborate with clients to discuss project goals, budgets, and timelines
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project alignment
• Monitor project progress and update estimates as needed
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks
• Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, materials, and regulations
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation
• Manage and estimate projects specifically for Veterans Affairs (VA) home improvements, ensuring compliance with VA standards and requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the home improvement or construction industry
• Experience with VA home improvement projects and understanding of VA building standards
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with estimating software
• Experience with residential renovation and repair projects
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations

. The estimator is responsible for bidding and estimating residential and commercial construction projects

. The estimator is responsible for providing accurate estimates from jobs and provide bids in order to provide the company with sufficient profitable work to meet its goals.

• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials and labor expenses
• Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor required and other factors
• Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors on estimates
• Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues
• Use computer software to calculate estimates
• Evaluate a product’s cost-effectiveness or profitability
• Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable
• Work with other team members to prepare the estimates and bids for clients
• Develop project plans for the duration of the project
• Present proposals to customers in an effort to sell the project
