EHS Coordinator is responsible for assisting in compliance with Environmental, Healthy, and Safety regulations within the manufacturing facility. This role involves implementing and maintaining safety programs to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment. The EHS Coordinator will also lead efforts to reduce the facility's environmental impact while promoting a culture of safety, health, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive EHS training calendar that includes mandatory safety training, hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops to ensure employees understand safety protocols and the proper use of equipment and protective measures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on employee feedback, incident data, and regulatory updates.
- Provide specialized training for specific roles, such as machine operators, first responders, and supervisors, ensuring that all employees are equipped to recognize hazards and respond appropriately.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental risk assessments, inspections, and audits.
- Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks to employees, the environment, and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve facility safety and environmental controls.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of workplace incidents, injuries, and environmental releases, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety performance.
- Assisting with Monitor and manage the facility’s environmental impact, including waste management, energy use, water consumption, and emissions.
- Coordinate the proper disposal and recycling of hazardous materials and waste.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and coordinate waste reduction strategies.
