The Courtyard by Marriott, located in Concord, NC, is hiring for a full-time or par-time F&B Supervisor. The person hired for this position will need flexibility to work 5:30am-10:30am or 4:30pm-10:30pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversees the food & beverage department of the hotel including restaurant food service and production and bar service. The F&B Supervisor establishes a positive work environment and an attitude of exceptional guest service and superior food product quality; enforces policies and procedures established by SREE Hotels, the brand, and applicable state and local health codes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, support, schedule, assign daily work, inform and train food and beverage employees in all restaurant and bar activities and operations
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner
- Assist with food and bar service
- Support and maintain follow through of all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents which occur in the F&B Outlets
- Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all F&B personnel according to company Standards
- Maintains food and beverage product and service quality standards by implementing policies and procedures
- Maintains line of communication between dining area and outside departments
- Maintain high visibility to assist our guests to ensure a pleasurable and satisfactory experience
- Investigates deficiencies/complaints, and initiates corrective action
- Ensures all meeting room functions are set up and maintained properly to include proper set ups, cleanliness and food preparations
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
- Ensures proper cleaning and PM's are taken place on the restaurant equipment
- Ensures all food & beverage reporting is completed in a timely fashion
- Supervisory responsibilities including recruiting, training, scheduling and motivating F&B staff members
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in a restaurant and or hotel environment
- High School Diploma required; Associates degree or higher in a food & beverage-related subject preferred
- Advanced knowledge of proper food handling & storage requirements, use of industrial kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques
- Experience managing budgets and inventory levels
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and or holidays
- Ability to meet all certification requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to speak clearly and listen attentively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, effective problem solving skills
- The ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse and have
- Must possess a positive attitude and have an outgoing/friendly personality
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment. The employee will often work in the kitchen, restaurant, and banquet areas. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required, as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
