Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management and estimating, with a strong ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for pricing and cost control.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for accurate estimating.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data related to construction costs.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contract terms.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and best practices in the construction industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
