What you’ll Do:
The Accounts Payable Team Lead is responsible for leading the daily operations and reporting requirements of the Accounts Payable Department. This includes invoice management, data entry, resolving discrepancies and reporting. Assists the AP Manager and leads the AP staff in the planning, organizing and control of process flow and payment obligations and adherence to AP policies and procedures, and serves as backup for AP Manager during period of absence.
- Lead the team: Provide leadership to the accounts payable team, including coaching, mentoring, and feedback
- Processing: Process invoices for escalated urgent requests and make sure it's completed from start to finish.
- Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and vendor payment terms
- Monitor emails: Monitor aged inquiry emails to make sure the SLA is within target goal
- Prepare reports: Prepare and present reports on accounts payable activities, including status on team stats.
- Implementation assistance: Assist, test and provide feedback when needed with new systems and processes to improve efficiency
- Maintain vendor files: Maintain vendor files with proper backup documentation
- Respond to inquiries: Respond to internal and vendor inquiries professionally. Provide great customer service.
- Reconcile accounts: When necessary assist vendors with reconciling their accounts.
Requirements We Look For:
- Minimum of five to seven years’ experience analyzing and researching credit and inventory discrepancies in an Accounts Payable department of a $100MM business.
- Associate’s degree in accounting (or relevant experience) preferred.
- Knowledge of general accounts payable processes and procedures.
- 3-way matching experience.
- Extensive PO processing and analyzing experience.
- High attention-to-detail and accuracy with minimal error rate.
- Committed to service excellence towards customers, vendors, and employees.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication timely and accurately.
- P/C literate; ability to navigate the Internet; proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Pass both a background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for any company.
